Family Education Lecture Series 7:00pm- 8:00pm
This group is for anyone who loves someone with the disease of addiction, people with a loved one in active addiction or early recovery. The event is held at 737 Delaware Avenue, Suite 101 and is FREE.
The group’s facilitator is Barbara Howard, known by many as “Babs.” She has been affected by addiction having lost two brothers to this disease and grateful to have a son in recovery. Babs has been a part of the recovery community for the past 10 years providing education, resources and support to families. She is passionate about de-stigmatizing the disease of addiction so that individuals and their families get the treatment and support they need and are entitled to receive.
Babs is pursuing her certification as a Peer Advocate and is presently working with 4 families through Save the Michaels. Babs is grateful to Save the Michaels for providing support and resources to educating people like herself to be of service to families in Western New York that are affected by the disease of addiction.
Babs is very excited about providing a Family Support Group, and we are just as excited to have her with us!
